Square-Enix's E3 booth boasted a slew of new iOS titles - far more than any other traditional game publisher at the event.
Hookshot Inc. starts its look at the line-up by strapping on a mage hat and heading into the Famicom-esque Final Fantasy Dimensions.
What's Matter, eh? It appears to be a game that asks the question, What if Pinball had a soul? What if those funny little ball bearings you knock around the inside of a hollow table had big, emotive eyes and could grow weird little probes?
E3 isn’t built for people like me, but perhaps it never was. It’s designed to sell the big games, when increasingly I play the small ones. Then it deliberately picks the loud bits of those big games, when I prefer the quiet.
I’ve never felt such a strong disconnect with the show. I think that it’s because it no longer reflects the way I feel about games, or the way I play them.
Next week it's the 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo, that time of the year when game journalists attempt to avoid staring into the abyss of regret and self-loathing that is the booth babe's eye, while totally sneaking glances at her bosom.
