You’ve nailed the Gigatrack. You’ve sampled some of the 160,000 user-made tracks. You’ve done that one that’s a bit like Inception, and you’ve waxed lyrical about how scooting through the D-Day landings on a dirt-bike made you truly understand the horror of war. What next?

Why, only Trials Evolution’s expansion pack Origin of Pain!

Sounding all the world like it’s an add-on for a mid-nineties shooter rather than a physics-obsessed arm-break simulator, Origin of Pain is released tomorrow (Friday) for a mere 400 MS points. So that’s 11.1 MS points for each of the 36 tracks on offer. I don’t know what that is in real money, and I can’t be arsed to check, but it certainly doesn’t sound very much. Especially when there’s a bunch of new skill games, a hundred editor objects and a BMX mode being thrown in on top.

Most exciting of all, by my estimation, is that the new levels are all built in an entirely new world – which will, of course, be open for the Trials community to build their wildest motorcyclist dreams deep inside. Already covered by RedLynx are temples, coliseums, plane crashes, a Halloween track and a somewhat mind-bending toy-set – but who knows what further treats loyal trialists will conjure up in future?
